Madison County Bowling Association

Board Of Directors Meeting

November 7, 2006 @ 6:00 PM

Harvey Poynter called the meeting of the M.C.B.A. to order.  Harvey told the board that the KY State Jamboree will be coming to Richmond next year.  He suggested that we use the Jameson Inn as the host hotel for the jamboree and the board members agreed.  Harvey also said our association should nominate local association members to the state Hall Of Fame.  Harvey said we need a Hall Of Fame committee to come up with nominees for the state Hall Of Fame.  He appointed Mike Dillon and Micheal Weaver to the Hall Of Fame committee.  The board also discussed meeting with the women’s association and Harvey said they wanted to meet with us and the association boards would set a time to meet.  Jack Noe told the board that he was going to start a youth league at Maroon Lanes.  Jack said he has talked with some of the parents of kids that are interested in bowling in the league about helping with the league and youth association.  The board also talked about helping out the kids interested in bowling in a youth league.  The board voted to pay half of the sanction fees for the youth league bowlers and to pay the total fees if the women’s association didn’t want to pay the other half.  The board discussed holding a youth tournament, trying to get schools to have teams in a league and possibly holding a short youth league during the months of January and February.  Harvey told the board he would talk to the parents but our association would need to help with the youth association.   The board discussed what type a tournament our association would hold in November and decided on the Low Score Tournament.  The board voted to give out gift cards to the winners of the tournament.  The board also voted to give out prizes to both men and women.  Harvey asked about the bulletin board our association was wanting to get.  Joe showed the members pictures of the bulletin board he was working on getting for us.  Kim Breeding said she thought she might be able to find us a bulletin board for less than the board Joe had showed us. Harvey told the board that Worth McGuire asked to be removed from the board because he wouldn’t be able to attend meeting because of health reasons.  Harvey asked Michael Weaver if Bill Bradley still wanted to be on the board, Michael said he would find out.  Harvey suggested that our association make Worth and Bill, if they can’t make our meetings, honorary board members and we could elect new board members.  The board decided to hold our shorter meetings on Monday nights and when we needed more time for a meeting we meet on Tuesday nights.  We also discussed the city tournament, about whether to hold the tournament at one house or both houses.  Harvey told the members to talk to the league bowlers to find out if they were going to bowl in the city tournament and if not why. The board set the next monthly meeting at Galaxy on Monday December 4 @ 9:00 P.M.
