Association vice president Gary Kerns called the meeting to order.  The members discussed how our association should handle MCBA President Harvey Poynter serving in the military and being away for possibly 18 months.  The board asked Gary if he would want to take on the duties of president until Harvey returns.  Gary told the board members he would fill in until Harvey gets back.  Lewis Jones Jr. told the members that Harvey would only need a current USBC card to remain a member of the MCBA.  Kim Breeding made a motion for the association to buy a USBC card for Harvey and also go ahead and order a shirt.  The motion got a second and passed.  Kim was also asked if the shirts would be in by the date of the No-tap Tournament.  She said they should be done by then.  Joe Silver was asked if the tournament flyers had been sent out and he said they had been.  The board then discussed the upcoming tournament.  Beverly Shearer and Kim said they would take care of registration.  Lewis said he would take care of running the tournament.  Lewis showed the new USBC awards to the board members.  Gary suggested someone from our association should go to the league meetings and inform the league members about the tournament we are going to run.  Getting a bulletin board for Galaxy was also discussed.  It would give our association a place to post meeting dates,  post USBC bowler’s achievements and top association averages.  Joe said he would check on the price of a bulletin board.  The board also talked about the YABA association.  It was asked if the their would be a youth league this fall and if there is a local YABA association.  Joe said Galaxy would have a youth league.  The board discussed if needed that our association possibly handling the duties of the YABA association.  The members agreed to help with the YABA if needed.  The board set the next meeting for Sept. 5, 2006.  The meeting will be held at Galaxy Bowling Center at 6:00 PM.
