John Beranek called the meeting to order.  A motion to dismiss with the reading of the minutes got a second and passed.  The meeting started with a discussion about the  scorekeepers sign up sheet for the state tournament.  Carla Beranek told the board that she would take the sign up sheet to the Tuesday women’s league and the Wednesday mixed league.  John Beranek passed  a work sheet around so the members could write in the times they could work the tournament.  Carla told the board she had ordered four of the six bowling balls for the tournament and Bill Hare and Jack Noe would take care of the other two.  The board discussed what to charge for the tickets for the balls.  The board decided to charge $2.00 a ticket and $5.00 for 3 tickets.  One ball will be given away each weekend at each house. Mike Moody asked Jack Noe if he was going to run a tournament at Maroon Lanes.  Jack said he was holding a doubles tournament the Friday before each weekend of the tournament.  The members discussed a 50/50 pot and how to distribute the money. Bill Bradley made a motion to have half the pot go to the association and half to the winner.  The motion passed.  Lewis Jones Jr. asked about the banners for the tournament.  Worth McGuire said Coke would donate some banners and Bill Hare said Pepsi would also donate banners for the tournament.  Dustin Woolery asked Jack what times Maroon Lanes would be open because some bowlers who wanted to practice for the state tournament has asked him about the times.  Jack said he would be opening at 1:00 PM.  Bill Bradley asked if the Hospitality room for the first Saturday was set and what would be served.  Worth and Bill Hare are taking care of the soda and cookies and Bill Bradley said he would bring something.  The board discussed sponsoring teams but decided to let the members who wanted to bowl pay there own way.  Perry Wyrick asked if the association would be interested in helping send youth league bowlers to their state tournament.  John Beranek  said we would wait till after the state tournament to see how it goes first and then we could discuss how we could help the youth bowlers.  Carla suggested the association could also offer a scholarship. The board set the next meeting for October 25, 2004 at Galaxy Bowling Center.  The meeting will start at 9:00 PM.
