Meeting Minutes

 

President John Beranek called the meeting of the M.C.B.A to order.  John introduced Margaret Tisley to the board.  Margaret told the board that scorekeepers were needed for the Women’s State Tournament.  She explained to the members what the scorekeepers would have to do at the tournament.  After taking the names of the members who could help John took roll call and asked if the members needed the minutes read.  A motion was made to dismiss with the reading of the minutes.  The motion was seconded and passed.  The members then discussed getting new shirts to wear to the Ky State Bowling Association Tournament.  Carla Beranek made a motion to get the shirts and was seconded by John Poynter.  The board passed the motion.  John B. passed a sheet around and asked the members to write their shirt sizes.  The board then looked over the proposal Carla B. has worked on for the State Tournament.  The members discussed possible changes to the proposal.  Bill Bradley spoke to the board members about what we needed to do at the State Tournament.  He said we should be at the breakfast at 8:00 AM and the meeting would start at 9:00 AM.  He also said John Beranek should speak at the meeting and told Carla we should take at least 50 color copies and 100 black and white copies to the meeting.  Bill said Ron Roberts has put a lot of work redoing the Policy & Procedures Manual for the Ky State Bowling Association.  He also said we need to stress how close the hotels are to the bowling center.  Bill told the members we should go into the meeting as if Maroon Lanes would be open for the tournament.  Also we needed to be well represented at the Ky State Bowling Jamboree.  John asked if there were any unfinished business to discuss.  Spider Weaver spoke for the Tournament Committee and told the board they would work on tournament, Carla B. suggested some type of holiday tournament.  Eli Harness wanted to know how we could improve the turnout for the tournaments because the tournaments he bowled in last year the turnout was low.  The board discussed ways to improve participation.  The board set the next meeting for November 4, 2003 at 7:00 PM.  The meeting will be held at Maroon Lanes.  The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM.
