Board Of Directors Meeting

Roll Call 

Carla Beranek, John Beranek, Bill Bradley, Bill Hare, Eli Harness, Lewis Jones Jr., Mike Moody, Jack Noe, John Poynter, Michael Weaver, Dustin Woolery

 

John Beranek called the meeting to order.  A motion to dismiss with the reading of the minutes got a second and passed.  John then reported to the board that the state jamboree would be held on July 10th and 11th with the singles tournament starting at 2:30 PM.  Dustin Woolery reported that he had checked on shirts for the state tournament.  John Beranek asked Jack Noe if Maroon Lanes would be open for the state tournament.  Jack told the board that they would be open for the tournament.  The board then voted to hold the Team Event at Maroon Lanes and the Singles and Doubles Event at Galaxy Bowling Center.  Eli Harness reported to the board that he had checked with local hotels about catering the state tournament breakfast and Best Western Holiday Plaza was the only hotel able to accommodate the breakfast and meeting.  The board asked Bill Hare if Galaxy would be able to handle the breakfast and meeting which Bill told the board they could.  The board then voted to hold the tournament breakfast and meeting at Galaxy Bowling Center.  The board discussed the promotional bag and program book.  Eli stated that it would be difficult to get things for the bag and the board agreed and decided to not have a promotional bag.  Eli also said he had checked with some businesses about putting an ad in the program book.  The board decided to have half-page and full-page ads in the book with the businesses possibly having a coupon as part of their ad.  The board discussed a 50/50 pot and brackets.  The board talked about splitting directors between the two houses.  John Poynter will be in charge of taking care of the brackets at Galaxy Center and Jack Noe will be in charge of taking care of the brackets at Maroon Lanes.  Carla Beranek will be in charge of signing in the bowlers at Galaxy Center and Lewis will be in charge of signing in the bowlers at Maroon Lanes.  The board discussed the event times and voted on 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM.  The board also discussed who would help us with the tournament.  The board set the next meeting for June 8, 2004 at Maroon Lanes.  The meeting will start at 7:00 PM.
